Sprout ~ Eco Friendly Watch ~ GIVEAWAY!!! ~ 3 WINNERS! ~ ENDS 4/6

In honor of Earth Day 2010 ,I'm doing a fun giveaway
that's not only practical, but good for you & good for our
Earth :) What more can you ask for , right?

Sprout watches are cute, come in different sizes and colors and my favorite part - are totally conscience & responsible. We all need to come out and support companies who support ours & our children's planet Earth. It's the only one we've got. Supply dictates demand & if we all decided to buy eco, organic products, & not buy conventional, we could change the market quickly.

Let me give you that stats on what make Sprout watches Eco friendly :

Eco Facts:

Eco-Friendliness
The small size Sprout™ watch is 80% eco-friendly (by weight)
The large size Sprout™ watch is 86% eco-friendly (by weight)

Compliance
All Sprout™ watches are in compliance with the CPSIA and are lead and phthalate free.
The corn resin we use is in full compliance with the American ASTM D6400 as well as the European EN13432 standards for
compostable material.

Materials
Corn Resin
The shelf life of corn resin is similar to synthetic plastics. It will not break down during regular wear and use.
In a composite environment, corn resin is 99% biodegradable tp carbon dioxide and water within 365 days.
Since it’s made from corn, it comes from a renewable resource.
Conventional plastics use an estimated 200,000 barrels of oil a day in the United States alone but because corn resin is bio-based, it therefore uses no oil resources in production

Organic Cotton
The majority of cotton is grown with toxic chemicals. Conventional cotton requires the use of enormous amounts of
pesticides - 25% of all insecticides and 10% of all pesticides - which have a huge environmental impact. It is one of the
most environmentally damaging crops to grow, as about 84 million pounds of pesticides are sprayed on US cotton crops
alone in one year. Some of these chemicals are considered to be the most toxic chemicals in the world.
Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment and is grown without
the use of toxic pesticides and synthetic fertilizers.

Bamboo
Bamboo is considered eco-friendly based on its properties as 1) a natural (nonsynthetic) fiber, 2) a quick-growth plant
(it's in the grass family) that sequesters greenhouse gases, and 3) a renewable plant that can grow back after its three to
five year harvesting period. It largely doesn't need chemicals, pesticides, or fertilizers to grow.

Mineral Crystal
Most lenses in the medium price range of watches are made from plexiglass, a type of synthetic plastic. Sprout™
lenses are made from Mineral crystal which is a type of glass made from sand. It can technically be recycled.

Mercury Free Battery
Mercury is actually a neurotoxin, which is harmful to both animals and humans. Exposure to even small amounts of
mercury over a long period may cause negative health effects including damage to the brain, kidney, lungs and a
developing baby. Sprout™ watches use only Mercury Free batteries.

Recycled Fibers
Sprout™ packaging is made from at least 80% post consumer fibers. It is both recycled and recyclable.

About Sprout:

OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Simply put, our mission is to make the most eco-friendly watch we possibly can. We don’t believe in inflated claims with lots of exclamation points at the end (no one likes to be screamed at). What we do is tell you the truth about who we are, what we do and what we can & can’t do to make our product more environmentally friendly. We believe in promising less and delivering more.

WHO WE ARE
A company that has been in the business of making timepieces for over 50 years. Our strength as a company comes from our employees who collectively have invaluable knowledge, technical expertise, experience and a real passion for the traditions of watch making. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have a bunch of ambitious, freethinking, rebel employees with an entrepreneurial spirit who are committed to looking ahead to a greener future for our company and our planet. Asking the simple question, “How can we make a greener watch?” they looked for an answer. After countless hours of research and development and a lot of lunches eaten over their keyboards, two years later Sprout was born.

WHAT WE WANT TO BE
We do not claim to be the greenest company around but we are environmentally aware and we are always seeking ways to be kinder to the earth. We do little things like recycling all of our used paper, turning lights and equipment off when not in use, and choosing mass transit or car pooling to save natural resources. As a company, we are also making bigger changes, like converting to recyclable and recycled materials for packaging, reducing the size and amount of packing cartons and using more efficient transportation methods for moving our goods (like combining deliveries and choosing boat vs. air transport for our overseas shipments). We aren’t environmentalists, we are a watch company, and so we figure one of the best ways to be a greener company is to make a greener watch. The point is, we know everyone has a choice and we want to make sure that we make the eco-friendly choice as often as we can. That’s why we developed Sprout – to give you an eco-friendly choice.
