I'm so glad I got to try this product. Two words " that blanket". It's been in our family as long as I can remember - probably about 12 years. It's a nice, well made, comfy as heck blanket that we use to snuggle up on the couch or as an extra when someone sleeps over. All of a sudden, for no apparent reason, it started stinking - like feet. Ewwww - I know.
I've tried everything - washing it over and over. Washing with a tiny bit of bleach , washing with baking soda , soaking in vinegar, line drying in the sun. Nothing worked. I hated to toss it, so I put it loose in the shed for the couple cats we get in there every winter.
This product was offered to me for my cloth diapers, but I knew the real test was " that blanket". So I retrieved it from the shed and followed the instructions for the preterit - I washed on hot, added a capful of
Febreze Laundry Odor Eliminator, and let it soak for about an hour. I then added laundry detergent and continued with the wash cycle.
I can't quite believe it, but " that blanket" doesn't stink!!!!!!! After all the soaking and washing, Febreze Laundry Odor Eliminator got out the stink from the blanket I had given up on!! Woo Hoo! I brought it back in for us to use before the cats got to it. I went to Goodwill and bought a replacement cat blanket :)
Cloth diapers are funny & I didn't want to use this product on them before I tested it first. If you use the wrong thing, you'll get wicking and then leaks. So, I took my least favorite cloth diaper, and washed it separately using Febreze Laundry Odor Eliminator. I didn't notice any absorbency problems or diaper rash issues. I have washed that diaper with Febreze Laundry Odor Eliminator several times and have not noticed any problems. I will probably use as an occasional soak for my diapers when they need it.
Overall - this product does what it says - removes tough odors. Would you expect anything less from Febreze?
