Socrates and Alcibiades

Informa Platão (Simpósio) que Sócrates terá sido iniciado no amor por Diotima de Mantineia. Desagradou a Sócrates a ligação de Alcibíades (ca 450-404 aC) com Aspásia, amante de Péricles, de quem tinha um filho.


Plato (Symposium) informs that Socrates is said to have been initiated into love by Diotima of Mantinea. Socrates was displeased with the connection of Alcibiades (ca. 450-404 BC) with Aspasia, Pericles’ mistress from whom she had a son.
