In the 19th century Montmartre was a rural area on the outskirts of Paris with vineyards, cultivated fields and windmills for the grinding of cereals for bread making. By the end of the century, one of them became famous when it was transformed into a place for dance and light meals.
Montmartre era no séc. XIX uma zona rural da periferia de Paris com vinhas, campos de cultura e moinhos de vento destinados à farinação dos cereais para fabrico de pão. Um deles tornou-se célebre no final do século ao ser transformado em local de dança e de refeições ligeiras.
