Pushkin Museum in Moscow

The museum, dedicated to Alexander Pushkin (1799-1837), is the largest in Moscow. It concerns Western art and is one of the best in the world. The idea of its creation came from Ivan Tsvetaeva who was part of the city university. The financial contribution came from the millionaire Yuriy Nechanev-Maltsov (1834-1913). It opened in 1912 with the appointment of Alexander III. It was named after the poet (Pushkin) in 1937.


O Museu dedicado a Alexandre Pushkin (1799-1837) é o maior de Moscovo dedicado à arte ocidental e um dos melhores a nível mundial. A ideia da sua criação partiu de Ivan Tsvetaev da universidade da cidade. A contribuição financeira pertenceu ao milionário Yuriy Nechanev-Maltsov (1834-1913). Inauguraram-no em 1912 com a designação de Alexandre III. Recebeu o nome do poeta (Pushkin) em 1937.
