Portos de mar europeus (european harbours)

Por várias razões os portos de mar europeus perderam grande parte da sua importância. Serviram durante a descoberta de novos continentes, como refúgio de corsários, para transporte de tropas, para a deslocação de passageiros. Com o desenvolvimento da aviação comercial ficaram confinados a recepção de: mercadorias, cruzeiros de recreio, barcos de pesca. As marinas recebem os barcos de recreio de menores dimensões.
