The Fruit Guys have really got something here - what a great service! Straight to my door arrives a briefcase style box filled with fresh, organic fruits and veggies! It was awesome!

I received the Takehome pack. Each week the Capay Farmshares collective hand packs a mix of produce grown by local farms and ranches from Capay Valley, California. The collective is made up of over 25 farms and ranches from this region. Partnering with The FruitGuys helps expand the sustainability of Capay Valley small farms and brings you what is at its peak from this very specific and special place. My mix included apples, oranges, pears, strawberries, lemons, peaches, celery, zuchini, fennel root, and dried pinto beans. It was so nice to have all that variety at one time - delivered all together.

Everything was fresh and ripe - I smelled the smell of the fruit upon opening the box. It really was a cool experience.

Ju and I had a peach right away. They were juicy & flavorful - it was a hot day and they really hit the spot. I did a stir fry that night for dinner using the vegetables from the mix and a few other s I already had. It was so good and fresh served over rice noodles - yum.

Then the next night was Friday & pizza night in our house. I made up a nice big salad and again used the vegetables we got in the mix. The fennel root and greenery really was nice in the salad. The root is crunchy with a slight anise flavor and the greenery adds a beautiful texture to the look of the salad.

Still I have some vegetable from the mix left and I will finish it off tomorrow in another salad with our lasagna.

It really was quite a bit of food there - stretched out a lot. The fruit we have been piecing on and there is still a bit of fruit left too. The strawberries were very ripe upon arrival, so that night I sliced them up, sprinkled lightly with sugar, mashed a bit and served over vanilla ice cream - super yum!

So I think it really is a great service to have all of that fresh, organic fruit & veg delivered to your door. We love The Fruit Guys!
